15 journalists from 11 news media organisations, made the shortlist for the 2024 Wole Soyinka Award for Investigative Reporting .
Out of a total of 219 entries that were received, 15 journalists emerged as finalists for the 19th Wole Soyinka Award for Investigative Reporting (WSAIR).
According to a statement signed by Managing Director, WSAIR, Motunrayo Alaka, the finalists were selected by the 2024 WSAIR judges chaired by Stella Din Jacob, Editor-in-Chief and News Director, TVCNews.
The Shortlisted reporters are Segun Odunayo, Olukayode Jaiyeola, and Elliot Ovadje from The Punch, Isaac Ojo from Splash105.5FM, Umar Audu, of Daily Nigerian, Victor Asowata of The Will, Olufunke Fayemi, Voice of Nigeria; Chukwuemeka Emenike, New Telegraph, and Aaron Atsahyel, Trust TV. Others are Jemilat Nasiru and Mansur Ibrahim from The Cable, Lami Sadiq, from Daily Trust, Adedoja Salam-Adeniyi of TVCNews, Ann Godwin, The Guardian, Daniel Ojukwu with the Foundation for Investigative Journalism (FIJ).
The winners are expected to be announced at the 19th WSAIR presentation ceremony set for Monday, December 9, from 5pm to 8pm WAT at the AGIP Recital Hall, MUSON Centre, Lagos.
