    Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has early Monday been sworn in for a second term in office.

 

AbdulRazaq, who won his re-election bid with a landslide victory, was sworn in alongside his deputy, Mr. Kayode Alabi.

The solemn swearing-in ceremony held at the Council Chamber of the Government House in Ilorin.

It was attended by several dignitaries from the traditional, political and business communities.

AbdulRazaq has meanwhile immediately announced the reappointment of Rafiu Ajakaye as his Chief Press Secretary.

In a statement from the Office of the Head of Service signed by Murtala Atoyebi, the reappointment of Ajakaye was confirmed.

“The Executive Governor of Kwara State, H.E. Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has approved the reappointment of Mr. Rafiu Ajakaiye as the Chief Press Secretary (CPS),” the statement read.

It added: “While congratulating Ajakaiye for his reappointment, the HOS admonished him to rededicate himself to his responsibility as the Governor’s Spokesperson.”

Muslim News recalls that Ajakaye was also one of the earliest appointees announced in the first term of the Governor.

He is an experienced journalist and public relations practitioner. He had a stint at the international media outfit, Anadolu Agency of Turkey, before his public service engagement.
