Ahmadiya And Other Communities Clamour For New Bridges Across Canals To Save Lives + Photos ~ The Scoper Media

       These are not the best times for residents and commuters of Ife Dapot beween Ahmadiya, Abule Taylor and Ekoro . After U Turn Abule Egba communities of Lagos State respectively 

    Speaking to a resident and entrepreneur Mr Udeme Inyang, appealed to the State and local governments and even Federal to collectively fix the canal and build bridges across for easy passage of residents in these Communities.

     According to him the community has been divided into two , making it hard for people to cross to the other side , Kids , visually impaired , pregnant women , elders too fall into the canal . The canal is 16 meters wide and about 7 feet deep canal.
He expressed dissatisfaction over the negligence of the government officials and stakeholders on the project ,” I don’t know if the Local government and Lagos State government respect the people in this community , nothing has been said about the bridges in that axis”. The community has written letters , no head way, we have lamented over the traditional media and social media to address the project and make life meaningful for residents in these Communities.

    “We want bridges to connect all the streets on that axis. We can not be talking about a Mega City when people have to go swim in canals to get to school , mosques and work.

    Some concerned persons are clamouring for a new bridge to save lives in Ahmadiya, Abule Taylor/ Ekoro communities.
According to them, the situation has worsen especially with the rain and flood every where , some un accounted and unreported persons have loss their lives during the periods.

    They said they have reached out to Mr Hassan Ogunmola chairman CDA / Joint CDA and Mrs Williams form ,treasurer no head way . According to the concerned residents no concrete explanation for these negligence. A lot of lives are at stake with this careless attitude.

    They added that at least 3 Bridges on the major stretch of the long canal , linking the major streets will be great relief to the people in the Communities.
Another resident and mother of 4 children, Mrs Rose Fusho said “During raining seasons we are always praying for no casualties because we live in fear, to avoid falls and accidents.

We are using this medium to draw your attention to the plight of the over 300 thousand people of Ahmadiya, Abule Taylor/ Ekoro who are daily being subjected to a subhuman treatment kids, women and the elderly having to go through the open canal.SOS! We need Bridges to safe lives. “
