Over 65 students of the Uma Ukpai Polytechnic, Asaga in Ohafia area of Abia State, got scholarships courtesy of the Managing Director of PWAN Plus Business Concerns Ltd, owners of Cedarwood brand of luxury homes, Ambassador (Dr.) Julius Oyedemi.
The academic community was left in absolute awe when the innovative real estate mogul instantly paid off the bills of indebted students, gifted generous feeding money to 54 students, and placed two members of the academic community on a monthly allowance.

Rector of the Polytechnic, Apostle (Brr.) Clement Ogbonna, who confirmed the kind gesture said that Ambassador Oyedemi was the guest speaker at the just-concluded 2023 edition of History Maker’s Summit, a flag-ship event of the Dr. Uma Ukpai Polytechnic.

Our correspondent reported that Ambassador Oyedemi, in what was described as an epic lecture, took the academic community into a fascinating three-day journey of positive mind reset.

On the same vein, giving his own impression, Apostle Ogbonna said: “This year’s History Maker’s Summit saw us in another perspective. Uma Ukpai Polytechnic, Asaga Ohafia kissed heaven on Earth. Dr. Julius Oyedemi is worth hearing. His teachings titled ‘Mind Set and Positive Thinking’ left us in awe.

“Ambassador Oyedemi obviously carries the grace to always strike the right chord. Our Staff and students’ minds were renewed daily in this conference. No one sees failure anymore, anywhere. Rather, we’ve been exposed to the fact that every greatness exists first on your mind,” Apostle Ogbonna added.

The Rector noted that coupled with the mental surgery, Ambassador Oyedemi had also demonstrated his teaching having showered loads of love and care for the staff, students, and the management of Uma Ukpai Polytechnic.

“He gave many scholarships, released indebted students from unpaid fees, placed a staff and a student on monthly allowances, gave 54 students generous feeding money, cash benefits, clothes, and shoes to impoverished students, and paid house rents for some staff of the polytechnic.

“As if that is not enough, Ambassador Oyedemi promised to give instant employment to anyone who graduates from Uma Ukpai Polytechnic Asaga Ohafia and couldn’t get employment else. Can you see why you should now register your child in Uma Ukpai Polytechnic,” the elated Rector further intimated.

Ambassador Oyedemi is an Electrical and Electronic Engineer before he veered into the real estate business. Hence, he inspected the Engineering Department of the Polytechnic.

During the tour, the real estate guru decided to take his philanthropic edge a notch higher, promising to decorate the Engineering students with necessary kits, and boots and provide some modern engineering equipment to the department.

He also pledged to invite some of his friends, who are experts in some fields of Engineering, to join hands with him to raise the Engineering Department and students into global acceptance.

With a deep sense of appreciation, the management of the Polytechnic decided to immortalise Ambassador Julius Oyedemi, and named the Engineering department after him.

“The Engineering Department Uma Ukpai Polytechnic, Asaga is today named after him. It’s now known as AMBASSADOR. DR. JULIUS OYEDEMI ELECTRICAL ELECTRONIC ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT,” Rector said.

Similarly, the management of the Polytechnic further honoured the esteemed guest speaker by introducing a new course known as MONE 1021 and MONEY 102 and putting Ambassador Oyedemi in charge of the course, with the view to teaching the students of the polytechnic how to create wealth and make genuine money.

Apostle Ogbonna described Ambassador Oyedemi as a rare Gen, noting “Our past years of relationship when you had and you would bring your newspaper to me to help you sell, and I would sell them and give you the money with a small transport fare shows that God is good. Today has remembered yesterday. I highly celebrate you Ambassador Dr Julius Oyedemi (P)”, the Rector said.

To cap it all, the founder of the polytechnic, revered Dr. Uma Ukpai, later showered his patriarch’s prayer and blessing on Ambassador Oyedemi, during a courtesy call at Dr. Uma Ukpai’s residence in Uyo Akwa Ibom State.
