Tinubu, Atiku Meet Amid PDP’s Call For APC Presidential Candidate To Step Down ~ The Scoper Media

The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, and the flagbearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, on Monday, met briefly at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.

Naija News gathered that the presidential candidates exchanged pleasantries in the presence of their party chieftains.

The National Chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Adamu and a presidential aspirant under PDP, Mohammed Hayatudeen were at the airport when Tinubu and Atiku met.

Their meeting is coming a few hours after the main opposition party called on Tinubu to withdraw from the 2023 presidential election.

PDP had asked the former Governor of Lagos State to withdraw from the 2023 race following the report that he forfeited funds to the United States government.

The PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, stated this while speaking at a media briefing in Abuja on Sunday.

He was reacting to the release of certified true copies of a settlement order issued by a US court domiciled in the Northern District of Illinois regarding forfeiture of funds in some bank accounts to the tune of $460,000 linked to the former Governor of Lagos State.

Ologunagba said the forfeiture of funds by Tinubu to the US government shows that he committed infractions that disqualify him from running for president.

The PDP spokesman, however, called on the APC presidential candidate to apologise to Nigerians for the issue and withdraw from the presidential race immediately.
