The kidnapped pupils and teachers of the Apostolic Faith Group of Schools, Emure-Ekiti, Ekiti State have regained their freedom.
However, the driver of the bus from which the children were kidnapped on Monday has been confirmed dead.
According to a video seen by The Eagle Online, the children and their tutors were looking unhealthy and unkempt.
Sighted in the video was one of the tutors, who appeared pregnant.
The release of the abducted pupils and tutors came a day after the Senior Special Assistant to the Ekiti State Governor on Special Interest Groups, Princess Toyin Agbaje-Malomo, met with the victims’ parents.
At the meeting, Agbaje-Malomo was told by the parents that the abductors rejected the N7 million already contributed by them and insisted on collecting N15 million as ransom for them to release the nine hostages.
The Eagle Online was told that the abductors were eventually paid the ransom, though the exact figure could not be ascertained.
