The Kano Tribunal has gone on recess ahead of its final verdict in the petition filed by the All Progressives Congress (APC) challenging the victory of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) in the governorship election.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the tribunal had dismissed the preliminary objections raised by the NNPP and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and had proceeded to hear the main petition.
However, the judges avoided the courtroom and are having the proceedings virtually. Access to the court was also limited to 50 persons.
The tribunal is expected to give its verdict soon.
The APC had alleged that the NNPP had engaged in irregularities during the election, including overvoting, vote-buying, and intimidation of voters
