Early of Thursday, August 10,2023, the Agency received a distress call, and promptly responded to the Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge.
An Eye witnesses said that an adult male had plunged into the lagoon. Despite our efforts to prevent it, the individual managed to evade restraint and jumped into the water.
According to Permanent Secretary/CEO, LASEMA, Dr. Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu,who disclosed this in a statement,it states that upon notification, LASWA officials were immediately informed about the incident. Regrettably, attempts to rescue the person were unsuccessful. However, the body of the unidentified adult male has been successfully retrieved and secured by our agency’s LRT team.
The arrival of SEHMU is presently awaited to facilitate the proper evacuation of the deceased from the scene.
