The Lagos State former Commissioner of Police, AIG Hakeem Odumosu (retd), has disassociated himself from news circulating online that he was been appointed as acting chairman of Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) by President Bola Tinubu before leaving Nigeria to France, yesterday.
Odumosu claimed that he was not aware of such appointment, and that he had no discussion with the president before his departure, describing the circulation of the fake appointment as unnecessary distraction by mischief makers.
While debunking the reports totally, Odumosu urged Nigerians especially those that admired his contribution to policing the country disregard all that was been peddled online on his appointment as the EFCC boss.
On this basis however, he disclosed this during an interview with The Guild on Wednesday, June, 21, 2023 after receiving several calls and messages from friends and associates that have read the fake news on different social media platforms in the country.
The former Commissioner, who distanced himself from the report, stated that he is not nursing such ambition and was already contributing his quota to the development of the country.
