The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2023 election, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to the country from the United Kingdom (UK).
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Tinubu arrived Nigeria on Thursday evening.
It would be recalled that since the 70-year-old traveled abroad on September 24, his absence has generated controversies, particularly about his health status. However, his aides and associates insist he is “as fit as a fiddle”.
Tinubu served as governor of Lagos state between 1999 and 2007. And until June, he was the National Leader of the ruling APC.
Barring any last-minute change of plans, the APC would formally flag off its 2023 presidential election campaign on Monday, October 10, in Abuja.
The development comes as the party and its campaign council received Tinubu back to the country.
Given his experience and influence in Nigeria’s political circle, Tinubu is considered one of the frontline candidates in respect of the 2023 presidential election.
