Five men who were said to have abducted a 70-year-old woman and collected the sum of N7.9 million ransom before releasing her have been arrested by men of the Delta State Police Command, the command announced on Tuesday.
The state police command disclosed the arrest on its Facebook wall, saying they were picked up by the Crack Squad attached to the Area Command, Ughelli, a few days after carrying out the act.
The command gave their names as Dominic Uweru, Isaac Oghenerukevwe, Oviri Godstime, Junior Sunday and Efedeki Adjovo, adding that they were arrested at their hideout inside a brothel at Ewu Town, Ughelli South Local Government Area of the state.

It was gathered that the police got a tip-off about their kidnapping activities and stormed the hideout where they were arrested.
At the point of their arrest, the command said one single-barrel gun, three locally-made cut to size pistols, the sum of N450,000 suspected to be ransom money, Point of Sales machines, substances suspected to be Indian hemp, among others, were recovered from them.
During preliminary investigation by the police, they were said to have confessed that they carried out kidnapping and robbery operations in Ughelli and its environs, including the abduction of the 70-year-old woman who was released after they collected N7.9 million as ransom.
They are currently in custody undergoing more interrogations and they are expected to be charged to court at the conclusion of the investigation.
