_Commandant Obiyo Urges National Youth Council Of Nigeria (NYCN)
The State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Anambra State Command, Mr Everestus C Obiyo JP has admonished Nigerian youths to shun any form of social vices and channel their energy into positive ventures. He stated this today,when he received in audience leadership of National Youth Council of Nigeria on a courtesy visit to State Command Headquarters Awka.
Mr. Obiyo who expressed sadness on the increasing rate of crime and criminality called for genuine partnership from the youth leadership to security agencies to rid the nation of crime and criminality. He commended the Youth Council for the visit and recounted much on their role in sustaining National Security.
Earlier Amb Sukubo Sara- Igbe Sukubo, President, National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) who led the delegation of National Executive Council with representatives from the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development and Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Youths and Students Affairs informed the State Commandant that the essence of the visit was to brainstorm on a conventional framework that would facilitate meaningful participation of youth in all spheres of peace and security of the Country, to intimate him on the election of National Youth Council of Nigeria, Anambra State Chapter and solicit for security coverage.
He thanked the State Commandant for the reception and assured him of the Youth Council’s resolve to roll out activities capable of giving purposeful, meaningful and all inclusive leadership that would have a direct impact on the Youths.
Amb. Sukubo extended the Youth Council’s appreciation to personnel of NSCDC in their relentless effort towards restoring peace to the Country and pledged their readiness to support the Corps in the best way possible to boost the morale of officers and men.
