CLOTHING CAPER UNRAVELED: 25-Year-Old Female Nabbed For N20M Theft At Popular Lagos Marketplace 🎊 The Scoper Media 

 

    A 25-year old lady, Uchechi Okeke, has landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly stealing clothes worth N20m belonging to one Patrick Ogbonna inside the market. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that she has been arrested and charged for conspiracy and stealing.
The incident happened at Broad Street,  Lagos Island, where the market is located.
According to the Police, the suspect, Uchechi, conspired with others now at large and stole the items before she was later arrested by the Police operatives from the Commissioner of Police Special Squad, Ikeja, Lagos and she was detained for interrogation over her alleged conduct.
Though the Police did not state the relationship between the suspect and the complainant, who alleged that she stole the items worth the said amount in the broad daylight.
However, after investigation, the Police found her culpable and consequently charged her before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
She pleaded not guilty when she was arraigned.
The prosecutor,  Inspector Lucky Ihiehie, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.A. Layinka, granted her bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment and addresses verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned till 18th April, 2024, for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
