Top Nigerian singer, Davido has sparked mixed reactions online after he opened up on how his father, Senator Adeleke kept on sending police to arrest him.
The DMW boss made this known in a recent interview with Hot 97 FM in New York.
During the interview, the 30 BG boss revealed how his father used to arrest not only him, but even people who attended shows that he did.
Speaking on why his father kept on sending police to arrest him, Davido stated that his father didn’t want him performing at all.
According to the singer, if his father should spot a billboard of him performing with another popular artist, he would send the police to arrest everybody, starting from the show promoter, to the people present at the backstage.
Giving reason for his father’s action, Davido made it known that he was still a student then and his father wouldn’t tolerate him leaving school for music.
The singer finally ended his statement by noting that his father stopped sending police after him the moment he graduated from school and left him to face his musical career.
In his words, he said;
“My father didn’t want me performing, at all. He sent police to get me. Like he’ll see a billboard for example, ‘Davido performing, Wizkid performing’.
“He would send police to arrest everybody, the show promoter, if you’re there, if we’re backstage and we’re chatting it up, we’re gone.”
