.Drama In Uyo As Pastor Refuses To Wed Couple For Arriving 35mins Late ~ The Scoper Media

There was a mild drama at Winners Chapel, Youth Avenue, Uyo, Akwa Ibom state after the pastor reportedly refused to wed a couple because they arrived more than half an hour late to the event.

A Facebook user and witness, Oga Yenne, said on Saturday the groom and bride turned up to the venue of the wedding 35minutes late.

According to him, the unnamed pastor refused to wed the couple, leaving he and other friends to snap with the couple.

He wrote: “Winners Chapel, Youth Avenue, Uyo refused to wed this couple today because they arrived at the church about 35 minutes late. We just gathered around the couple and snapped pictures. At least that’s the much we could do. Is this really fair on someone’s big day?”

Some have reacted to the development as follows…

Nseobong Umoh remarked: “With respect to the settings and standard of the church we are all humans let’s reason together. Now did the pastor listen to the reasons they were late? What if something beyond their control happened to them that made them late? Was the pastor busy in other engagement when the marriage was set already?Well they’ve reasons for this but I think if this was the pastor’s son or daughter he couldn’t have done this? Some people are busy saying 35minutes is too much but wait in the sun 2hrs to meet a politician imagine 🤔🤔🤔”

Fonnie Peters stated: “This is what you get when you’re used to the term ‘Nigerian time’ , it’s really bad especially for the youths… Punctuality is a discipline and a good one, even if it’s Court marriage you go late for, you’ll have to pay a fine… This will serve as a lesson to others… They should get a pastor to wed them at the reception.”

Ekaete Ekaete said: “Let them contact any pastor of any good church, especially if relation of theirs is one, let them use the reception venue and do the solemnization. . God is with them.”
