According to news that got to us today, it was reported that a 33-year-old man, whose name was given as Mr Volt Blessing Gabriel, was apprehended by men of the Delta State Police Command for using a hand saw to cut off the head of his one-year-old child for ritual purposes.
Information that was given made it known that the suspect killed the deceased, whose name was given as Godspower, inside a bush in Benin-City, the Edo State capital and buried his head by a palm tree while he threw away the headless body.
According to Vanguard, while the Police Public Relations Officer of the Delta State Police Command, Mr Bright Edafe, was reacting to it, he said the suspect was arrested after his wife reported to the police that, he took the boy out since Friday morning but, did not return with him while he was coming back home and when he was arrested, he confessed to police that he already killed his son.
During interrogation, Gabriel confessed to have murdered the said child at Ewabogun bush by Catholic Road in Benin City, using a hand saw to cut off the head. He further said he killed the victim because, he had a dream and saw an elderly man who told him that, if he kills the child and use the blood to rub his head, he would become rich.
