Enhancing Grassroot Legislation: Ogun Councillors’ Forum Laud Dapo Abiodun Over Symposium Sponsorship + Photos ~ The Scoper Media

 

  The Ogun State Councilors’ Forum has lauded Governor of Ogun state, Prince Dapo Abiodun for giving them the opportunities to enhance Legislative Framework at the grassroots.

   The group commended the governor at the ongoing training program organized by the National Councillors Forum of Nigeria in conjunction with Ashraf Consulting Nigeria Ltd., have as it’s theme “Consolidating Lawmaking In Revenue Generation In Local Government Level And Security Challenges In Nigeria. Crime Prevention And Control In Grassroot” in Abuja, the state Capital.

  In a communique jointly signed by the Ogun state chairman of the Councillors Forum, Hon Oladele Otesanya and the PRO, Hon. Rotimi Adeyemi respectively they said: “The leadership acknowledge and appreciate the ongoing efforts by Governor Dapo Abiodun, the Executive governor of Ogun State aimed at repositioning our state economy and commitment to manpower building of the grassroot Legislators.

   “Governor Dapo Abiodun has exhibited further that he is not paying lip-service to human capital development of the Councillors. Approving and providing necessary finance and logistics needs for this training within short notice goes to show that the issue of local government development is germane to his agenda and program” the communique reads.

   Calling for support of governor Abiodun led administration, the Councillors “call on all citizen of Ogun State to support Governor Dapo Abiodun administration’s drive towards revamping of our dear state economy.”

   The local government legislative forum is the legislative arm of the local government which consists of councilors who under a democracy are popularly elected from their wards. The council, in the Nigerian presidential form of local government was presided over by the leader.
