Ex-Lagos Gov Ambode Visits Sanwo-Olu 🎊 The Scoper Media

Former governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode, on Monday, paid a courtesy visit to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu at his office.

The visit is the first official visit of the former governor to Lagos House since he left office in 2019.

Although Ambode was at the Lagos House in June last year, it was for a reception organised in honour of President Bola Tinubu.

According to Gboyega Akosile, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Sanwo-Olu, the discussion between the two leaders centered around the development of Lagos, her economic trajectory and position as a socio-political stabiliser in the sub-region.

Sharing photos on his socials, Sanwo-Olu said: “Today, I welcomed my brother and predecessor, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, back to Lagos House.

“Our conversation centred around the future of Lagos and building on the solid foundation already in place. I value his perspective as we all work together to ensure that Lagos remains on the path of growth and development.”

Ambode, who was governor between 2015 and 2019, lost the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship ticket to the current governor in 2018, after he fell out with members of the party in the state.

He was accused of not carrying party leadership along in the governance of the state.

The former governor, who went into political hibernation after he left office, became a bit active again in the middle of 2023, after Sanwo-Olu attended his birthday party, ending a seemingly cold war between the two politicians.
