The Federal High Cort of Nigeria has launched an online affidavit system aimed at improving the efficiency and accessibility of the judiciary. This new initiative is designed to simplify the process of obtaining affidavits by allowing individuals to apply for and receive these legal documents electronically.
The System is part of a broader effort to modernize the court’s operations and reduce delays traditionally associated with manual processes.
The online platform will enable users to fill out affidavit forms, sy necessary fees, and submit the documents for review. Once approved, applicants will be able to download and print the affidavit, eliminating the need for in person visits to the court.
The system is expected to ease the workload of court staff, reduce congestion, and enhance transparency within the judiciary.
This digital transformation aligns with global trends in judicial reforms, where courts are leveraging technology to improve service delivery particularly in posts pandemic world where digital solutions have become more essential. By implementing this system, the Federal High Court Aims To Provide quicker, more efficient legal services while maintaining the integrity and authenticity of the affidavits.
This innovation is particularly beneficial for individuals in remote areas or those with limited access to court facilities, as it ensures broader access to legal documentation services. The system’s success may pave way for further digital reforms within Nigeria’s Judicial System.
In a similar development, the Lagos division of the court on Friday, The Court’s Deputy Chief Registrar Mr Godwin Long arranged an inspection of the Facility’s new ICT department headed by Mr Agwu Charles.
Agwu explained how the general public can make use if the innovation.
‘It is now a norm that the Affidavit for loss of items, age declaration, change of name, etc can now be fine via portal.fhc.gov.ng and following the instructors’.
‘What you just need to do is to login to the site:portal.fhc.gov.ng’. Agwu added
Shedding more light, DCR longer explained that at the moment , the portal can only process Affidavits that are non case related. ‘
‘Affidavits filed to support a case are still done manually because ofvtge peculiar disposition in such Affidavits,’ Longe said
