The media profession in Nigeria lost another icon as the Photo Editor of the Guardian newspapers, Femi Kuti gave up the ghost, reports thescopermedia.com.
According to his younger brother, Kehinde Adebesin-Kuti, The ace photojournalist died at the Federal Medical Center (FMC), Abeokuta on Thursday at 11:55pm after a brief illness.
This medium learnt that Kuti died while plans were at an advanced stage to transfer him to the prestigious St Nicholas Hospital in Lagos.
The veteran Guardian Photo Editor, Musbaudeen Femi Adebeshin- Kuti a.k.a Eshin Funfun was 57 years of age.

We received the sad news of the passing of our dear brother, Femi Adebesin-Kuti, Photo Editor of the Guardian Newspapers which occured in the early hours of today with great shock.
We pray that God in his infinite mercy will uphold and stand by his immediate family and friends at this trying time as we sympathize with members of the Guardian Newspapers Chapel and the entire PJAN family.

With heavy heart and gratitude to God for a life well spent, the Guild of Photojournalists Nigeria announces the death of one of its members, Mr Femi Adebesin-Kuti who died on Friday January 06,2023 at the Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta, Ogun State after a brief illness.
Adebesin was aged 57 years old. He occupied the Photo Editor position at the Guardian Newspaper and had a stint with the 234 NEXT Newspaper.
Fondly called ‘Esin Funfun'(White Horse), warm, charismatic and a lover of sports.
During his lifetime, he was a fan of Arsenal Football Club. He witnessed and covered the World Cup in South Africa and Russia respectively.
According to the son, Peter Oluwadamilola Adebesin-Kuti, his remains would be buried in Abeokuta, Ogun State according to Islamic rites later today.
He is survived by wives, children and siblings.
May the Lord grant his soul eternal rest. Amen

Femi Adebesin-Kuti is gone.This life! Vanity upon vanity, everything is vanity! Well, we thank God for the life our friend lived. He has done his own bit and God has thought it’s time he comes home to rest from the troubles of this world. I had the opportunity of working with Femi when I joined NEXT Newspaper as photo editor in 2009. Femi was a hardworking, social, friendly, fun comrade to work with. I will always cherish the just over one year we worked together on the same desk. We can’t question God! May the Lord give his family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
