The aeroplane crash-landing incident at the Ibadan Airport in Oyo State is being investigated by the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB).
Making this disclosure in a statement on Saturday, the organisation detailed that the aircraft was en route to Ibadan from Abuja before it crash-landed at Ibadan.
Confirming that no death was recorded during the crash, the Bureau detailed that all passengers and crew members aboard the aircraft were safely evacuated.
The statement reads: “The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) has been notified and commenced investigation into an accident involving an HS 125 aircraft with Nationality and Registration Marks 5N-AMM belonging to Flint Aero, which occurred at about 08:21 pm (Local Time) on 3rd November 2023.
“The aircraft, with 10 passengers and 3 crew members on board, was en route to Ibadan from Abuja. The aircraft, on final approach to landing on Runway 22, Ibadan Airport, crashed short of the runway. There was no fatality, as all passengers and crew were safely evacuated.”
It was earlier reported that An aircraft conveying the Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, and some of his aides, crash-landed near the Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
It was gathered that the aircraft departed Abuja Airport for Ibadan at about 6:41 pm and crash-landed into the bush during an effort to land at about 7:21 pm close to the airport runway in Ibadan.
