Tailor Remanded For Stealing Pot Of Soup In Ondo

    A 19-year-old tailor, Adura Fatogun, has been ordered to be remanded in a correctional facility by an Ondo State Magistrate Court presided over by O. A. Omofolarin for allegedly stealing a pot of soup.

Fatogun was also accused of stealing other items worth N311,100 from three people in the state.

The Police prosecutor, Bernard Olagbayi, told the court that the teenager committed the offence on October 12, 2023, at about 9 am at Ifeleye Street, Ayeyemi, Ondo town.

He noted that the defendant stole the property of Felix Ogunbolade, Adeqoga Aboodun, and Akinsete Adurayemi which contravened Section 383 and were punishable under Sections 412(1), 390(9) of the Criminal Code Cap 37 Volume 1 Laws of Ondo State.

However, Fatogun pleaded not guilty to the four-count charge concerning burglary and theft.

The prosecutor urged the court to adjourn the case to enable him to prepare witnesses for trial.

The Magistrate, O. A. Omofolarin, remanded the defendant to prison custody and adjourned sitting to February 19, 2024, for trial
