Veteran Yoruba actress Idowu Philips, widely known as Mama Rainbow, recently shared some personal experiences and challenges she faced following the death of her husband. In a heartfelt interview with Doyin Kukoyi on the official YouTube channel of Doyin Kukoyi TV, she recounted the difficulties she and her children endured and revealed an unsettling encounter with one of her late husband’s friends.
Mama Rainbow explained that after her husband passed away, she struggled financially, especially when her son gained admission to the university. Desperate to pay his tuition fees, she turned to her husband’s friend for assistance, hoping for support during their time of need. However, the encounter took an unexpected and inappropriate turn.
During the interview, she detailed the incident, saying, “When my son got admission into the university, I didn’t have the money to pay his tuition fees, so I needed help from my husband’s friend. He invited me to his house, and he told me that he would give me the money, but I had to come into his room.”
Mama Rainbow described how the friend attempted to take advantage of her vulnerable situation by offering financial help in exchange for sexual favors. She recounted, “When we got into the room, I told him that I wasn’t feeling fine and that I would come back to him later. That was how I was able to escape from his house.”
