The Inspector-General of Police, Dr. Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, alongside a Nigerian delegation, has arrived in Glasgow, United Kingdom, to join high-ranking police officials from 196 countries at the 92nd INTERPOL General Assembly. This major international summit, running from November 4th to 7th, 2024, brings together police chiefs and law enforcement leaders from around the world to address critical global security challenges. Dr. Egbetokun’s participation underscores Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening international cooperation and advancing strategies for combating cross-border crime and enhancing public safety.
Nigeria’s delegation to the 92nd INTERPOL General Assembly, led by Honorable Minister of Police Affairs Sen. Dr. Ibrahim Gaidam and Inspector-General of Police Dr. Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, includes top-ranking officials such as Vice President INTERPOL Africa, AIG (rtd) Garba Umar, CP INTERPOL Olaolu Adegbite, and Principal Staff Officer to the IGP, CP Johnson Adenola. Alongside participating in the main assembly, the delegation will engage in strategic bilateral discussions with Europol representatives and international delegates. These meetings will focus on deepening partnerships in global security, governance, and advanced data processing, as well as tackling organized crime and enhancing policing capabilities worldwide. This collaboration underscores Nigeria’s dedication to international cooperation in addressing cross-border challenges and evolving security threats.
Dr. Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun aims to harness the outcomes of the INTERPOL General Assembly to bolster the Nigeria Police Force and the West African Police Chiefs Committee (WAPCCO), where he serves as chairman.
