IMPOSTER ALERT: Salisu Bala Posing As Police Officer Arrested In Kano 🎯 The Scoper Media

The Kano State Police Command has responded to alarming reports of individuals impersonating members of the Police Special Constabulary and extorting money from unsuspecting citizens. This illicit activity has primarily targeted residents in the Sabon Gari, Fagge, and Koki Quarters of Kano Metropolis. Authorities are urging the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious behavior, as they work to apprehend these fraudsters and restore safety in the community.

Upon receiving reports of the ongoing impersonation and extortion scheme, Commissioner of Police Salman Dogo Garba swiftly directed the Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) in the affected areas to ramp up their efforts. He emphasized the need for a thorough investigation and immediate action to apprehend the impostors masquerading as members of the Police Special Constabulary, ensuring the safety and trust of the community.

As a result of heightened police efforts, Salisu Bala, a 31-year-old from Kurna Quarters, was apprehended on October 14, 2024, at approximately 8:30 PM in Koki Quarters. Members of the Police Special Constabulary caught him donning a black police uniform and a camouflage peak cap. Preliminary investigations revealed that Bala was not an actual police officer or a member of the Special Constabulary but rather an impostor who had been extorting unsuspecting citizens. He also admitted to being an illicit drug user. A subsequent search of his residence uncovered four different sets of police uniforms, further implicating him in his fraudulent activities

The Commissioner of Police reaffirmed the Kano State Police Command’s zero tolerance for impersonation and extortion by individuals posing as police officers or members of the Police Special Constabulary. He emphasized that the command will persist in taking proactive measures to ensure the safety and security of all residents. The public is urged to come forward if they recognize the suspect or have any complaints regarding his actions, and they can reach out at 07038188127.
