Nigeria’s Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has sent an official congratulatory message to His Royal Highness, Etsu Nupe, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, Chairman, Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, on the occasion of his 71st birthday and the commemoration of his 20th year of ascension to the throne.

“Etsu Nupe has been a worthy leader who has displayed exceptional wisdom to his people, and to which both the Niger State and federal governments have benefitted over the past two decades,” the Minister said in a statement.
“It is not in doubt that his reign has witnessed peace and prosperity in Nupeland and will continue to be a blessing to his people and the nation.”
Bida people, an ethnic group native to Northcentral of Nigeria, are the major ethnic group in Niger State. They are also present in Kwara State, Kogi State and the Federal Capital Territory.
The Minister, who holds the title of Kakaki Nupe (The Spokesman of the Nupe People) seized the occasion to congratulate the people of Nupe on the notable achievements of His Highness, who, he notes, has been a shining example among Nigeria’s traditional rulers.
