Nigerians have continued to mourn Herbert Wigwe, a visionary banker who sadly died in a helicopter crash in the United States.
However, many people are unaware that the financial magnate who served as Access Holding’s CEO also controlled a university. His passion for great education is possibly shown by the institution he is constructing in his birthplace of Isiokpo, Rivers state.
WHEN IS THE OPENING DATE OF WIGWE UNIVERSITY ISIOKPO
Wigwe University in Isiokpo is widely regarded as a top-tier Ivy League university, ranking among the finest in Nigeria and Africa.
The Wigwe University vision is as follows:
“To ignite Africa’s potential for prosperity, nurture thoughtful, fearless leaders, and become the leading university in Africa.”
Wigwe University is slated to open for the 2024/2025 academic year in 220 days.

HOW MUCH IS THE SCHOOL FEES AT WIGWE UNIVERSITY, ISIOKPO
Students enrolling in Wigwe University’s College of Arts will pay $12,000 (N17.9 million) every session, which includes lodging and other fees.
Students at the College of Engineering will pay $15,000 (N22.4 million) every session.
School costs are the same for all students at the College of Management of Social Sciences.
According to Wigwe University’s website, students in the College of Science and Computing will pay $15,000 (22.4 million) every session.
COURSES AVAILABLE AT WIGWE UNIVERSITY
The university’s colleges include Science and Computing, Engineering, Arts, Management, and Social Sciences.
Some of the courses offered by the colleges include BSc data science, BSc mathematics, BEng electrical engineering, BEng mechanical engineering, BA theatrical arts, BSc business management, BSc social innovation and entrepreneurship, and BSc accounting and data analytics. BSc finance and BSc in finance and financial technology.
Wigwe University also offers B.Eng computer engineering (robotics), BA fine arts and design, BSc cinema and media studies, BA animation and visual arts, and B.Sc communication and digital media studies.
The institution also offers BSc computer science, BSc cybersecurity, BSc software engineering, BSc forensics, and BSc information and communication technology (ICT), among other courses.
