JUNGLE JUSTICE: Police Rescue Three Robbers From Mob Action In Anambra ~ The Scoper Media

   The Police Public Relations Officer, Tochukwu Ikenga in a statement said the suspects had dispossessed a student of Chukwuemeka Odimeogwu Ojukwu University, Igbariam of her belongings.

   He listed items found and recovered from the suspects to include: one pistol, a dagger, a big saw, a big hammer, a black and brown coloured lady’s bag, an Infinix phone, a black Panasonic phone and three (3) phone chargers.

  He said the rescued suspects would be charged to court after investigations were concluded.

  He said, “The Commissioner of Police, Anambra Command, Echeng Echeng calls on Ndi-Anambra to refrain from engaging in jungle justice.

  The call followed an attempt by an angry mob to set three (3) alleged armed robbery suspects on fire.

   “The timely arrival and intervention of some police operatives at the scene saved the suspects from being lynched.

   “The suspects: Ifeanyi Nsiegbunam ‘M’ 23years, Chinemelum Nwafor ‘M’ 27years, Nnamdi Nwakwesili ‘M’ 40yrs, were alleged to have on 05/03/2022 at about 10am, dispossessed a student of Chukwuemeka Odimeogwu Ojokwu University, Igbariam of her belongings.

   “Incrementing items found and recovered from the suspects include: one locally made single barrel pistol, a white coloured dagger, a big saw, a big hammer, a black and brown coloured lady’s bag, an Infinix phone, a black Panasonic phone and three(3) phone chargers.

   “The CP was full of thanks to the public for the arrest of the three suspects and for their continuous assistance to the Police in the fight against crimes in the State.

  “He however, enjoins them to always follow the due process by handing over arrested suspects to the Police, stressing that such move would afford the Police opportunity to conduct appropriate investigation and prosecution of suspects and ensure justice.”
