Operatives of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), Police and other emergency responders yesterday night around 10:30pm (Sunday, 24th of September, 2023) rescued 3 casualties from trapped saloon car at Ojuelegba inward Stadium on Funsho Williams Avenue, Surulere, Lagos.
Traffic Officer Olajide Olukoga ‘Bravo’ who led the Lastma rescue operations at the scene of the accident confirmed that a 40ft container fell on top of a Toyota Corolla car (JJJ 811 FB) at the top Ojuelegba bridge inwards Stadium.
He confirmed further that out of those 3 casualties rescued from the Toyota Corolla saloon car, only one (male) came out unhurt and was allowed to go immediately.
The remaining 2 rescued casualties (an adult male and a female) were rushed to hospital by an ambulance belonging to Lasema.
Police men from Surulere Police Division were at the scene to provide adequate security.
While the entire Ojuelegba bridge inwards Stadium was temporarily closed and traffic diverted to the service lane by Lastma Officials.
In conclusion however, rescue and recovery operators completed at 11:30pm yesterday night and the temporary closed Ojuelegba bridge was opened back for vehicular movement by Lastma officials by 11:20pm yesterday night.
