Legal Expert Tasks Stakeholders On Quality Education And Mental Health By Cleopatra Eki }{ The Scoper Media

   A Doctor of Laws (LLD) Chief Charles Uwensuyi-Edosomwan SAN has tasked stakeholders to prioritize education and mental health for a better life and society.He made the call at the ceremony of his conferment of the Doctor of laws Honoris Causa, organised by the pioneer class of law, University of Benin; held at Nordic Hotel Victoria lsland Lagos. He also appreciated the guests and pioneer class of law, University of Benin for gracing the event. According to him, we need to revamp our current education with the good Programmes, policies and modern technology to remain abreast with latest innovations despite the total neglect by successive governments.

Dr. Edosomwan recalled that his father proudly said ” Education in my days were more quality and robust than in your days”. He pointed out “The social media is a veritable tool for learning in the 2lst century though it has its isadvantages, if well ultilised, the social media can be used to attain quality education. Edosomwan urged the citizens to be patient and work with the government to revive educational system. He added that the roits and decays in the educational sector is due to the neglect of successive governments.

 

As for mental health, it is as old as man himself. So we have to guide it and do not engage in activities that are detrimental or can trigger emotions. Parents and caregivers should listen and spend more quality time with their children in order to know and understand them.

His Excellency Dr. Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN CON) speaking at the event, encouraged the pioneer class of law, University of Benin and guests to continue to remain as peaceful happy and law -abiding people in the society. Fashola said that he was elated by the reunion which took him down the memory lane.
