Lifestyle Initiatives To Hit 30,000 Meals Giveaway For The Year : The Scoper Media

Lifestyle Initiatives, a city-based nonprofit, has announced plans to distribute food and essential items to 10,000 individuals across Lagos, Ibadan, and Ado-Ekiti this festive season. This effort builds on their ongoing campaign, The Sharing Love Project, which has already provided meals to over 20,000 indigent individuals this year.

Speaking in Lagos on Monday, December 16, 2024, the organization’s Founder and CEO, Dr. Akinpelumi Precious Iluku, emphasized that the beneficiaries were carefully identified through research to ensure targeted impact.

“This Christmas, we are committed to spreading love and relief to those in need,” Dr. Iluku said. “Our mission is to make the season brighter for as many as possible.”

The initiative highlights Lifestyle Initiatives’ dedication to fostering community welfare and addressing hunger in underserved areas.

Iluku explained, “As we mark the ninth anniversary of our God-inspired charitable works and engagement with the downtrodden, the helpless and the hopeless, we will be distributing one of our most cherished initiatives – our meal boxes – which we have proudly labelled ‘Faith, Hope and Love’. These boxes are more than just meals; they are a message of care and divine providence.

“We have been incredibly fortunate to partner with other like-minded organizations such as FoodClique Support Initiatives, ShaddaiVille Ministries International, ShaddaiVille Leadership Academy, and Pain is a Gift Initiatives. Together, we have been able to extend our reach and increase the impact we have on communities” Iluku said.

Similarly, at the briefing, Engr. Serah Ogundele, Co-founder of the organization, highlighted the impact of their partnership with FoodClique in combating hunger and uplifting vulnerable communities. She noted, “Our collaboration has been instrumental in driving key initiatives like the Meals-2-Go program, the Zero Hunger Match, the World Food Day Symposium, and the distribution of palliatives during World Food Day. Together, we’ve tirelessly worked to address hunger, raise awareness, and deliver essential support to underserved populations.”

This partnership has not only provided immediate relief but has also fostered a movement dedicated to eradicating food insecurity, demonstrating the power of collective action in creating lasting change.

“We are doing even more this festive season. On December 20, we will be visiting and giving love to the brethren (1,500 of them) at the Agodi Correctional Centre, Ibadan while on December 26, our ‘Sharing Love on Gifting Day’ event will happen in four locations across two states; at Sabo, Abule-Oja and Alagomeji in Lagos State, and in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State.

“Over the next few days, our incredible volunteers will come together to pack Faith, Hope and Love into every meal box. These volunteers are more than just helpers; they are givers who contribute their time, money and resources to make each project a reality” Ogundele said.

For nearly a decade, Lifestyle Initiatives has transformed lives through education and empowerment, awarding scholarships to those without access to schooling and supporting heads of families in starting or expanding small businesses. These efforts have enabled many to break free from the cycle of poverty and provide a brighter future for their loved ones.

Speaking to journalists, Dr. Iluku shared the organization’s remarkable achievements: “This year alone, by God’s grace, we have provided meals to over 20,000 indigent individuals. These aren’t just numbers to us; they represent families—adults and children—who now have renewed hope because someone cared enough to take action.”

Beyond addressing physical needs, Lifestyle Initiatives also focuses on spiritual outreach, engaging in church planting, prison ministry, hospital visits, and street evangelism, ensuring holistic transformation in the communities they serve.

“Children who faced an uncertain future are now thriving in schools, full of potential, because of the scholarships we’ve been able to provide. The challenges may be great, but our resolve is greater. We won’t give up for as long as there are people in need” Iluku said.
