SLAIN SOLDIERS: I Spoke With Lt. Col. Ali Last Week, He Was Contemplating That He Would Retire In 7 Years – Afegbua 🎊 The Scoper Media

Kassim Afegbua, former commissioner for information in Edo State, has expressed sadness over the recent tragedy in Okuama community, Bomadi region of Delta State, where senior military officers and soldiers lost their lives.

In an interview with Channels TV, Afegbua revealed that one of the soldiers killed, Lt Colonel Hassan Ali, was a close friend whom he had spoken to just a week before the incident. He said Lt Colonel Ali had been looking forward to retiring from the army in seven years and starting a new chapter in his life outside the military. He said he was shocked to receive news of Ali’s sudden death just two days ago. He also extended his condolences to the families of all the brave officers and soldiers who died.

In Afegbua’s words: “I spoke with him [Lt. Col. Hassan Ali] last week, he was contemplating that in 7 years he would retire from the army and face life outside the army, that he has had his own time. Only for me to wake up two days back and they sent a message to me that Ali was dead. It is quite painful”
