The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a man named Amos Christopher for the alleged murder and beheading of his younger brother. The incident occurred in Dobi village, Ga’anda District, Gombi LGA. The victim, Thyson, was only four years old.
According to the police investigation, 24-year-old Amos physically assaulted his youngest sibling, leading to his death. Subsequently, he proceeded to decapitate the child.
It has been reported that Amos suffers from epilepsy, although it remains unclear how this condition may have influenced his actions.
Reports suggest that the incident took place on June 19, when Amos’ health condition worsened. Witnesses stated that Amos had a seizure and collapsed outside on June 18.
Neighbors helped him back home, but the following morning, his behavior drastically changed. He violently attacked his mother and younger brothers, ultimately focusing his aggression on Thyson.
Despite his mother’s desperate attempts to save the boy, she was unable to rescue him from the locked room where Amos subjected him to fatal injuries.
Afterward, Amos carried the lifeless body outside and used a hoe to sever the child’s head. Shockingly, Amos has been denying any involvement in the incident, claiming that Thyson is still alive and present at home.
Christopher Haruna, the suspect’s father, stated that the tragic incident occurred while he was working on his farm. He confirmed that Amos has been grappling with epilepsy, and the family has been striving to find a cure for his condition.
