Following the announcement of the untimely death of Miss Happiness Odeh, a Mass Communication Student, by the Student Union Government, Press Club MAPOLY has gathered that she was raped to death.
According to the release by the SUG on August 12, 2022, she won the award of the beauty pageant on campus as Miss MAPOLY, on the 3rd of August 2022.
The SUG has also disregarded the rumors flying around, stating that “her death is not related to her status as the new Miss MAPOLY and the movie location she attended has nothing to do with the beauty pageantry on campus.”
However, according to the President of the Association of Mass Communication Students, Mr.Abidemi Hakeem (RIO), he said according to the report from the police, it was a confirmed rape case.
He said, “I went to Saapade yesterday (Friday), I went to the police station, that’s where the case is. When we got to Remo police station, we didn’t meet the DPO, so we had to wait for him. The DPO later explained that they got a call from somebody that they found two bodies on the road at along Iperu road.
“The DPO said they had a case of two bodies, so they could only recover one of the phones, so they took the phone and they were able to call her parents, so they needed to confirm who we are looking for, because they found two bodies, and they have been taken to the mortuary at Sagamu.
“We, therefore, went to Sagamu with her father and we were able to confirm that she’s the one. According to the report the police gave us, they were a sign of struggle on the body, so it was a case of rape.
“When I saw the body, they didn’t touch her at all, they left her in the morgue, she didn’t have any cuts and the shirt she was wearing was torn, and she was bleeding from the nose.
“The second student involved was a Sapaade student who was going for screening while Happiness was going to a movie location.”
The SUG, however, commiserated with the deceased “family, friends, and colleagues. May Almighty God grant us all the fortitude to bear this painful loss. Continue to rest in the bosom of the Lord.”
