The new Force Commander of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), Major General Ibrahim Sallau Ali, has appreciated the Chadian Armed Forces for its support, and appealed for more cooperation that would aid in achieving the mandate of the MNJTF. He stated this during a maiden visit to the Chadian Chief of General Staff, General Abakar Abdelkarim Daoud, in his office on Wednesday.
A statement signed by Military Public Information Officer, Ndjemena, Lt. Col. Abubakar Abdullahi, and made available to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP), said the MNJTF boss acknowledged the Chadian Armed Forces for their role as gracious hosts to their Headquarters.
Major General Ali acknowledged General Daoud’s leadership role and consistent support towards the success of the MNJTF. He emphasized the importance of collaboration and cooperation among the member countries to effectively combat the activities of terrorists and ensure peace and stability in the Lake Chad basin region. The Force Commander highlighted the need for increased support from all member countries, including Chad, in terms of intelligence sharing, manpower, and resources to effectively combat the common enemy.
In response, General Daoud assured the Force Commander and the MNJTF of Chad Armed Forces readiness to provide continuous support and assistance towards achieving the mission’s goals. He expressed the Chadian armed forces’ commitment to the success of the MNJTF, emphasizing that Chad, as the host country’s Chief of Defence Staff, holds a special responsibility towards ensuring the mission’s success.
In a final note, the visit concluded with both officers expressing optimism about the progress and future successes of the MNJTF. They reiterated their commitment to collaborative efforts and emphasized the importance of continued cooperation among member countries to achieve lasting peace and security in the region.
