Mr Mayowa Oke, Founder Merge Foundation has urged youths to embrace on self discovery journey, skills acquisition and time management to add value to themselves and the society.
He made the call at the first Edition of Merge Mega Teens Summit with the theme”Acquire, Purpose, Purity and Success”held in lkorodu Lagos.
Addressing over 500 Students from 25 schools in lkorodu and environs,he said that every child is a gift and blessing from God. For as young persons , “We are ready to help to them reduce stereotype, religious and ethnicity discrimination , grow skills and contribute to the society.
He advised the youth to love and accept themselves for who they are. Adding that they are uniquely created with treasures that are meant to be tapped and they are the best of their kind.
According to him, Valentine’s Day concept is mostly perceived by many young people as the season of love in the air (love making), noting however that it is wrong misconception for the some young persons. Merge Foundation is sets organise training on skills acquisition on Fashion, photography, catering digital & I T skills for other youths in Oshodi Lagos State in April.
Speaking Made Oke -Mayowa, Co -host Merge Foundation and Head of counseling cautioned young adults to should stop making anybody. feel inferior regardless of your gender, tribes and religious background.They should not give up their dreams.
She added that “They should be confident open minded and adaptable,the society can place impeding hurdles before them that make some goals appear unrealistic, and are forced to the unsettling reality but they keep on pushing till they attain greatness.”
According to her, Merge foundation is sets to serve humanity, with vision to Build and Raising Godly and Global standard Generations.They should never look down on themselves as being inferior to others using their circumstances, background, gender, or environment as yardstick.
Oke urged them to be studious,law abiding and be good ambassadors to society and the world
Mr Olaniyi Alaka, Lead Palatable Poison Ministry and resources person talked on Genotype and genetics. He showed videos on challenges of sickle cell persons and cost of keeping them alive, and what blood types, what potential couples should look out for and undergo medical tests before marriage to prevent such disasters.
They should abstain from abuses of substances such as alcohol, narcotic drugs and other substances”, he stated.
Fikunayomi Ajayi,ss a youth corper,
who accomplied some visually impaired youths to the teen summit, they learned more on Genotype and things to avoid about sickle cell disorder.
Ajayi disclosed, “We were urged to continue the practices healthy life style as a way of life.”
Daniel.Dieyi, a youth leader said he got more knowledge on time management and avoid sexually immorality.
According to him, he was taught to avoid procrastination and do different tasks at record time.
Akinniyi Akinwande, another researcher and one of the secretaries for youth programme, disclosed that he passionately support the youth projects through data and research solutions equiping the communities for a better society.
He appreciated the foundation and partners organisations, friends and family for making the event mind-blowing and a huge success.
The highpoint of event includes Public speaking , singing and dancing among others.
