A robber who was said to have jumped the fence of a house in order to steal a vehicle belonging to the owner has been arrested by the operatives of the Niger State Police Command along with his accomplice who planned to collect and sell it.
The Public Relations Officer of the state police command, Wasiu Abiodun, who announced the arrest in a statement by the command posted on his Facebook wall on Thursday, gave the names of the men as Hassan Bala, aged 30 years and Hamza Adamu, aged 32 years.

It was gathered that Hassan Bala was arrested at a residence around Mandela area of Minna when he jumped through the fence to gain access to the compound in order to steal a vehicle parked inside, having observed and studied the house for some time.
During his interrogation, he was said to have told policemen that he got the information about the vehicle from one Dodo, and mentioned Hamza Adamu as his accomplice who was waiting to receive the vehicle for disposal in Kaduna.
He said he met Hamza at the Correctional Centre, Minna in 2017 after serving one year jail term for theft-related offences, adding that both of them had perpetrated several theft of motorcycles and transformer cables before he attempted to steal the vehicle.
The statement added that the two of them had given more useful information to the operatives after which they are expected to be charged to court for prosecution.
