The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has announced the promotion of 1,419 junior officers, marking a significant milestone in the agency’s commitment to rewarding excellence and enhancing operational efficiency.
The decision, approved during the 10th Management meeting held on November 29, 2024, was presided over by the Comptroller General of Customs (CGC), Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR. The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has elevated 1,419 junior officers across various ranks following the 2024 promotion exercise, highlighting its commitment to recognizing excellence and fostering career growth.
The promotion list features both General Duty and Support Staff officers. A total of 346 General Duty and 384 Support Staff officers ascended from Assistant Inspector of Customs (AIC) to Inspector of Customs (IC), while 4 General Duty and 13 Support Staff officers advanced from Customs Assistant I (CAI) to AIC.
Further advancements saw 372 General Duty and 59 Support Staff officers promoted from Customs Assistant II (CAII) to CAI, and 188 General Duty alongside 54 Support Staff officers elevated from Customs Assistant III (CAIII) to CAII.
This sweeping promotion exercise reflects the NCS’s dedication to rewarding hard work and enhancing the efficiency of its workforce, further solidifying its role in national economic and security operations.
