Nigerian biker, Kunle Adeyanju, who recently arrived in Nigeria after embarking on an adventurous journey from London to Lagos has revealed the most difficult route he took for him to complete his trip.

In an exclusive interview with BBC Pidgin, Adeyanju said that the route he took through the Sahara desert was the most challenging one for him. He explained that it was an unfriendly place and everything there was dangerous.

“The most challenging route for me was the one through the Sahara desert. No human being should be there, that place is unfriendly. If the heat there doesn’t kill, the wind can do so. If the wind doesn’t kill, the sand can kill. Everything there can kill.”

The biker told BBC Pidgin that it took him 6 days to cross the Sahara desert. He said that it wasn’t an easy journey, adding that he planned very well before hitting the road.

“The only thing that made me finish the ride successfully was because of the planning. I prepared very well for the journey. It took me a year to know where to follow, where police checkpoints are on the road, and the nearest hospital locations.”

Adeyanju said that he learned to repair his bike and also fix tyres before embarking on his trip. He added that he did this because of concerns that his bike might break down in the desert and he might be the only one to fix it.
