Human rights activist and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Femi Falana has joined the ongoing Nigeria Labour Congress solidarity protest in Lagos over the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) strike.
Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, had on Sunday promised to embark on a two-day nationwide protest in solidarity with the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, and other affiliate unions over the lingering industrial action in public universities in Nigeria.
The national president, Comrade Ayuba Wabba in a statement told fellow workers that the national days of protest was in support of unions in Nigeria’s public universities who are fighting for quality education.
Members of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) trooped out in large numbers in states across the country, demanding that the federal government resolve the issues with the lecturers and other university workers in the interest of the students who are missing out in their educational career. Falana joined the protest at the gate of the Lagos State House of Assembly on Tuesday July 26, 2022
He also joined protesters to enter State House premises in Lagos.
In another development, the convener of Concerned Nigerians, Deji Adeyanju, Tuesday morning alleged that terrorists kidnapped a Nigerian captain and thirteen (13) soldiers in Abuja.
The Lagos NLC chairperson, Mrs Agnes Sessy, made this revelation during a demonstration in Ikeja.
She persuaded the federal government to act or risk another EndSARS protest.
