The Commandant General (CG) of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR, has promised to discipline unruly officers bent on damaging the image of the Corps.
Audi said this during the opening ceremony of 2023 CGs Conference which had in attendance, Deputy Commandants General, Assistant Commandants General and State Commandants on Thursday at NSCDC Headquarters, Sauka, Abuja.
He said that the management of NSCDC will no longer condone any behavior or act of indiscipline that could put the Corps to disrepute, charging officers to have a change of attitude to work.
“The Corps will not hesitate to sanction any officer for any act which bothers on indiscipline or misconduct,” he reiterated.
The CG called on officers to ensure active intelligence gathering as a proactive measure, pointing out that regular surveillance should be sustained to guarantee security of lives and protection of critical national assets and Infrastructure in the country.
He added that arrangement is being made to introduce series of trainings and capacity building programmes on surveillance and intelligence gathering for personnel.
The NSCDC Helmsman said that such trainings will sharpen the skills and competence of personnel and further foster operational capabilities.
“In addition, we have embarked on massive equipment drive to further boost the capacity of the Corps personnel,” he said.
Audi charged the officers to redouble their efforts and remain resolute to avowed commitment to extinguish the flame of insecurity in collaboration with the Military, Police, DSS and other security agencies by making Nigeria unsafe and unconducive for criminals and those with criminal tendencies.
