…Arrests One Suspect For Crude Oil Theft

The Commandant General’s Special Intelligence Squad has affirmed its readiness to continuously wage war against vandals and oil thieves across the Niger Delta, National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP can report.
The Commander of the Squad, DC Dandaura Appolos said the economy of the country would be revived if the respective stakeholders collaborated to end illegal bunkering activities mostly in the coastal regions.
He said the Squad acted on credible intelligence and discovered 4 Surface Reservoirs fabricated with Trampoline and used to store crude siphoned from the vandalized well head where metal galvanized pipes and hoses were connected and processed locally and transported to buyers.
“Upon arrival at a very thick forest in Odagwa community, Etche local government of Rivers State; the suspects took to their heels due to the terrain, we further discovered some newly constructed reservoirs coated with Trampoline and used for storing crude oil, we also sighted the point at which the wellhead was vandalized and continuous tapping and siphoning have been taking place”.
In addition, the Squad also dismantled 6 newly constructed local cooking pots with 60,000 litres capacity each. While the following exhibits were sighted: Large trampolines used as reservoirs for storing large quantities of stolen crude oil, 4 locally fabricated cooking ovens, large quantities of galvanized metal pipes, different sizes of rubber hoses, 3 shovels, 1 metal bucket, several nylon containing stolen crude oil, clothing, slippers and personal effectseffects suspected to be owned by the vandals.
