Ogunsan Felicitates With AIGs Longe, Owohunwa On New Appointments, Lauds IGP Egbetokun 🎊 The Scoper Media

Respected Board Member of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) and Chairman, Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) Lagos State, Dr. Ayo Ogunsan, has extended his congratulations to the duo of AIG Yetunde Longe and AIG Idowu Owohunwa on their new appointments as the Force Secretary and Head of INTERPOL National Central Bureau (NCB), Force HQ Abuja, respectively, by the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun. 
 
The security expert, who is also the CEO, Executive Group, made his felicitations known via a statement he e-signed himself and made available to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP, where he lauded the capabilities of the AIGs as a result of their antecedents as well as praised the foresight of IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun in appointing the duo.
 
“It takes only a leader with genuine foresight to discover the likes of AIG Longe and AIG Owohunwa to appoint them into such sensitive positions. So, I commend my able IGP,” Ogunsan said.
 
He further hailed the IGP for recognizing the abilities of women in the Force, and remaining gender-sensitive in distribution of appointments under his watch.
 
Speaking on the AIGs, Ogunsan noted that Owohunwa and Longe have paid their dues in the Police Force, and are forces to reckon with when it comes to both policing and administration.
 
He agreed with the IGP that the new assignments is a proof of their exceptional abilities and the trust the Force places in their capabilities.
 
“I have followed the trajectory of AIGs Owohunwa and Longe, and can’t agree more with the IGP. These officers have been exemplary in the discharge of their duties, and churn near impeccable records.
“I heartily congratulate them, and wish them the best and successful time while their tenure in their various offices last. I’m very sure they will, and help to give the Nigerian Police Force the pride of place it deserves,” the newly appointed international peace advocate of United Nations Positive Livelihood Award Centre (UN-POLAC) said.
 
He acknowledged AIG Yetunde Longe for her many firsts including becoming the first Female Deputy Commissioner of Police in Charge of Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Panti; first female Area Commander, Area F Ikeja, and the first female AIG in Charge of Training Department of the Nigeria Police Force.
 
Similarly, he acknowledged AIG Idowu Owohunwa’s doggedness, noting that he has over the years proven his mettle in various capacities including as PSO to many IGPs, as Lagos CP, and most recently, as AIG of Force CID Annex Alagbon.
 
It would be recalled that IGP Kayode Egbetokun, in a statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, announced the appointment of the two AIGs.
 
The statement read:
‘The Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D, NPM, has approved the posting of two senior police officers to strategic positions within the Nigeria Police Force as part of ongoing efforts to bolster the efficiency of the Force and multinational approach to tackling crimes.’
 
“AIG Yetunde Longe has been appointed as the Force Secretary. In this capacity, AIG Longe will be responsible for overseeing the secretarial functions of the Force Headquarters, ensuring that policies and directives of the IGP are implemented effectively, as well as coordinate the affairs of senior police officers.
 
“Similarly, AIG Idowu Owohunwa has been assigned to the INTERPOL National Central Bureau (NCB) at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Abuja. He is tasked with enhancing international police cooperation and ensuring that Nigeria fulfills its obligations within the global INTERPOL framework.”
