The two recently dismissed soldiers involved in the killing of renowned Islamic Cleric, Sheikh Goni Aisami, have been handed over to the Yobe State Police command by Authorities of the Nigerian Army.
According to Daily Post, in an interview with journalists shortly after they were handed over to the police, Captain Kennedy Anyanwu, Sector 2 Public Relations Officer, said the soldiers who have been dismissed from service have been handed over to the Yobe State Police Command for them to face civil prosecution in the court of law.
In light of the recent development, the Nigerian Police has revealed what will happen to the two dismissed soldiers, John Gabriel and Adamu Gideon.
According to DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, Public Relations Officer, Yobe State Police Command, the suspects will be charged to court for armed robbery and culpable homicide upon completion of investigations.
It would be recalled that The Nigerian Army had dismissed the two soldiers after trial. Their ranks were reduced from Lance Corporal to Private and dismissed Regiments.
