Months after the attack on the Abuja-Kaduna train, resulting in the killing and abduction of several passengers, some victims are still in the custody of these evil men
A voice believed to be that of one of the terrorists was heard in a viral audio threatening to slaughter the victims in their custody if the Federal Government doesn’t seek their release.
However, Malam Tukur Mamu, a Kaduna-based publisher, and spokesman for Sheikh Ahmad Gumi confirmed the authenticity of the audio. It should be noted that Mamu has been an intermediary between the terrorists and the government.
According to Malam Mamu, the terrorists were provoked on Monday after another failed opportunity of negotiation. He added that he cried and pleaded with them, saying that since the government was delaying, they should negotiate directly with the family members of the captives.
He went further to say that the terrorists are giving them till Wednesday (today) to negotiate or else they will start slaughtering the train victims.
In my opinion, the authorities shouldn’t take this threat lightly, as these unscrupulous elements have shown on several occasions how callous they can be.
