Sunday Akingbala, a supporter of the Peoples Democratic Party and its governorship candidate, Ademola Adeleke has reportedly shot himself while celebrating the victory of the party.
Akingbala believed to be a member of Amotekun accidentally shot himself in Ile Ife on today Sunday, July 17th 2022.
Naija News learnt that Akingbala was rushed to the Seventh Day Adventist Church hospital in Lagere, Ile Ife before he was referred to Obafemi Awolowo Teaching Hospital.
Recall that Adeleke defeated the sitting governor of Osun State, Gboyega Oyetola and the All Progressives Congress in the gubernatorial election held on the 16th of July, 2022.
The PDP governorship candidate gathered 403,371 votes to defeat Oyetola who polled 375,027 votes.
The Independent National Electoral Commission declared Adeleke the winner after winning 17 out of 30 local government areas in the state while the governor won 13.
