The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, was the cynosure of all eyes on Saturday night as he led a group of singers in dance steps to a song titled: “O se normal,” in his honour.
The occasion was a “THANK YOU” dinner Sanwo-Olu held in honour of political appointees in his first term in office.
Sanwo-Olu, along with his Deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, will be taking the oath of office for a second term on Monday (May 29, 2023).
The Governor, who joined the five-man band on the stage, set the pace for the dance steps to the admiration of those present, a development that set the social media abuzz following the posting of the video by one of his aides, Jubril A. Gawat, on Twitter.
Several comments followed, including one by the Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa.
Responding to the post by Gawat, which he simply titled: “O SE NORMAL @jidesanwoolu,” Dabiri-Erewa, a former Member of the House of Representatives, tweeted: “Refreshing 💃💃🥰😄.”
However, some Twitter users observed that Sanwo-Olu had lost a lot of weight, which they attributed to the stress of electioneering.
He was actively involved in the campaign for both his election and that of the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Both stood for the election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress.
On the return of the country to democratic rule in 1999, Tinubu was the first Governor of Lagos State.
He served two terms.
Several Twitter users advised Governor Sanwo-Olu to take a “deserved rest” after his second term inauguration on Monday
