Two young men who decided to fight right on the expressway in the Oshodi area of Lagos State on Tuesday, August 2 2022, had bitter experiences when they were knocked down by a speeding vehicle.
While one of them was crushed to death, the other sustained serious injuries and had to be rushed to a hospital following their decision to take their fisticuffs to the main expressway.
The incident occurred at Oshodi Oke inward Gbagada opposite LASTMA office on Tuesday evening as they were knocked down by the vehicle and while one died instantly, the other became unconscious as a result of the impact of the hit.
The incident was announced by the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) on its Facebook wall, which disclosed that while the body of one of those fighting was hander for onward transportation to the mortuary, the other was rushed to the Gbagada General Hospital.
According to the statement on the incident: “The LASEMA Response Team, Eagle Squad at Cappa Base, Oshodi, was deployed to Oshodi Oke inward Gbagada, opposite LASTMA Office where there were two adult males lying helplessly on the lay-by, today, Tuesday 2nd, August 2022.
“The team discovered that one of the casualties was confirmed dead.
“Further information gathered from the police at the scene revealed that the two male adults were fighting on the expressway and got knocked down by a moving vehicle.
“The agency’s paramedics administered First Aid treatment on the other victim in coma and he was resuscitated. Thereafter, he was taken to Gbagada General Hospital for further medical attention.
“The dead victim was thereafter handed over to State Environmental Health Monitoring Unit (SEHMU) for transfer to the morgue
