Renowned Muslim scholar and preacher, Sheikh Alhaji Muyideen Ajani Bello died in the early hours of Friday, December 6, 2204.
His death was confirmed by an Ibadan-based preacher, Sheik Almudeer Ajiginni on his Facebook page.
Here are things to know about the late Islamic scholar Muyideen Bello
1. Sheikh Muyideen was born in 1940 into the family of Alhaji Bello Ajani and Alhaja Ubaidat Bello of Arolu Compound, Ita Olukoyi, Ibadan.

3. He began his elementary Western education at 1.D.C Primary School, Elekuro, Ibadan.
4. He also attended the same school for secondary education.
5. He was a student of Mahdul Arabiy, Elekuro from 1963 to 1967, where he was armed with Arabic and Islamic knowledge.
6. From the tender age of 10, Alhaji Ajani Bello developed interest in Islamic propagation and was preaching across the nooks and crannies of Ibadan city.
7. He taught at various secondary schools in Oyo, Ogun and Kano States.
8. He was also appointed Missioner of a foremost Islamic organisation Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria.
9. Alhaji Muhyideen Bello had on various occasions been invited to spread the message of Islam from all over the world including in the UK, US, neighbouring African countries, among others.
10. He was a fearless preacher who taught the Quran without sentiment
11. Though he hailed from Ibadan, Bello lived most part of his life in Kaduna, and he is regarded as the most influential of all Islamic preachers of Yoruba origin in northern Nigeria.
12. He was one of the first to spread Islamic message through studio recording.
13. He died on Friday, December 6, 2024, dew hours before Jum’ah congregational prayer.
