There was anxiety on Monday at Ryan Nursery School in Tudun Wada, Gombe State capital as the security guard of the school was found hanged on a swing used by pupils for playing.
The gateman identified as Malam Abdullahi was found dead and his neck was tied with a rope attached to the swing while a chair allegedly used by him while on duty was beneath his legs.
As at the time of filing in this report, it was not certain whether the late gateman committed suicide or he was hanged by criminals. However, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the State Police Command Mahid Muazu Abubakar who confirmed the incident said it was a suspected suicide adding that investigation was on to ascertain the cause.
“We are aware of the incidence of suspected suicide. His relatives have been contacted. Investigation is on to ascertain the cause but it is now suspected suicide.”, he told our correspondent
